Torrance-based Podium Distribution held its first Retail Skate Night at their private indoor skatepark. Local shops were invited to come rip, and people from ET, Vanguard, Spider, South Bay Skates, Sunken City, and more showed up to have a burger and a soda, and shred the park with local pros Torey Pudwill, Mike Mo Capaldi, and Tony Tave. DVS Marketing Manager Cullen Poythress says the idea was simple—to stoke out local shops. “It was a definite success,” says Poythress. “We’ll definitely have more of these down the road. They’ll get more organized in the future. Maybe we’ll do mini-contests.”
